Welcome to my page about my life! My name is Erika Hammerschmidt. I'm an author and I live in Minnesota. I graduated from Augsburg College with majors in German and Spanish and a minor in Studio Arts, and I work at Target as well as giving speeches on autism and marketing my book. I am married to John Ricker, who, like me, is on the autism spectrum. And since I am too lazy to go to the trouble of changing this page every time I have a birthday, I'm not going to tell you my age, I'll just say I was born on June first, 1981.
Latest news:
Looking through old files, I've found two poems from high school that weren't up on my poetry page yet. Their names are "Canterbury Alien" and "Sidewalk," and I personally think they're delightful. You can see them at my poetry
page.
Abby and Norma is now on a new website, with automatic updating so that I will never, ever be late in posting a strip again!

I have written a book entitled "Born on the Wrong Planet." It's about my life with Asperger Syndrome and Tourette Syndrome. I'm working on another book, and my husband and I have an idea for a third.
